Inshore – Pensacola Fishing Charter
The big schools of bull redfish have arrived and anglers have had no trouble finding them on top in Pensacola Bay every day this week. Like I said last week once you find them schooled up they are very easy to catch.
We’re going to get another cold front on Saturday night so we should see a good run of flounder make their way down the beaches over the next few days if anyone wants to go after them with a gig.
The speckled trout should now really start ganging up in the bayous, rivers, and canals. Remember when you’re fishing for specks this time of year you really have to slow down the retrieve if you’re using artificial lures.
Offshore – Pensacola Fishing Charter
It’s looking like we’re going to have another weekend where the rough seas force most offshore boats to stay tied to the dock. A couple of charter boats who fished out of Pensacola Beach Marina this week had no problem finding vermillion snapper, scamp, and amberjack offshore. Piers & Beaches – Pensacola Fishing Charter
Good numbers of white trout and redfish are being caught on the Pensacola Bay Fishing Bridge both night and day. The white trout can be taken on small pieces of cut bait, shrimp, or artificial lures, while live pinfish or a chunk of cut bait is best for the redfish.
It may not be as enjoyable as fishing in the spring, but now’s a pretty good time to go surf fishing. A few pompano are being caught along with a good amount of whiting and redfish. I would stick to fresh dead peeled shrimp right now.
Freshwater – Pensacola Fishing Charter
With the cold weather for an extended numbers of days next week it should be worth trying Escambia or Blackwater River for striped bass.
